In previous generations, classroom learning often only included textbooks and lectures. Technology wasn't frequently present. However, in my generation, as well as upcoming generations, the technology used is almost as important as the material being learned. Children are being raised to understand the importance of technology in every aspect of life: entertainment, knowledge, and communication. Everyone is different; therefore, everyone learns differently. It is vital to present information in new, interesting ways for all types of learners. By using different sorts of technology, the presenter should be able to include everyone in their lesson.
A perfect example of using technology to include everyone is my World History teacher in high school. For almost every student in the class, World History seemed irrelevant and boring. However, my teacher made the class fun and interesting, and engaged everyone in the information. She always switched things up. Throughout the week, she presented mostly the same information in the form of a video, powerpoint, textbook learning, and made students look up the information individually on the computer. By doing this, the information she presented was comprehended by everyone in the class. I feel that all educators need to understand the importance of technology in our world, and begin to integrate it daily to the students so that they are well informed of the benefits of technology in their future careers and lives.
